Top 10 Things To Do with Your Dog in 2022

Walk every trail in your area

I thought I knew all the trails in my city…until I did a quick google search and found more than 10 trails I had never heard of. To me, exploring a new trail feels like a mini-adventure especially if you live in a climate with all 4 seasons. My dog loves exploring a new trail just as much as I do.

Make homemade treats

There are soo many dog-friendly recipes online. I love making a tray of pup-cicles in the summer and a doggy donut on her birthday! Check out Puppy Leaks for more recipe ideas.

Visit a local dog-friendly pub

Grab a meal and bring your favorite furry sidekick with you. Websites like BringFido rate whether restaurants and pubs in your area are fido-friendly! You can also add your own reviews to let other pet owners know local spots that allow k9 sidekicks.

Go camping

Who better to spend all day swimming in the lake and keeping warm around the fire than your pup! Many campsites and national parks are k9-friendly with accessible trails and beaches nearby. Please adhere to all rules that are put in place during your stay.

Head to the beach

Pack a picnic basket, an umbrella, and head to the beach. Your dog will love being in the water and digging in the sand. They may never want to leave. Make sure you look ahead of time to see if your beach allows dogs. Most municipalities have allocated areas for your pup to splash around.

Take family photos

Try skijoring

This may be for the bold and brave… if you live in a cold climate with snowy winters and you have a pair of skis and a large dog. This might be worth trying.

 Attend a festival

Did you know there is such a thing as a dog festival? Woofstock is North America’s Largest Festival for Dogs based in Toronto! Packed with pet-friendly vendors and activities to celebrate man’s best friend! Check out your local neighborhood for a festival near you.

Grab a pupichino at Starbucks

Treat yourselves to everyone’s favorite chain barista. Just a simple cup of whipped cream for your dog and a venti brown sugar oat americano for you!

Nose training hide and seek

Your dog is a super sniffer and although they may not be on the k9 unit at the NYPD, they still have a strong ability to smell. Test this out by playing hide and seek. Hide a few of your dog’s favorite treats around the house and see how long it takes for your dog to find them.
