Your privacy is one of our highest priorities and we are committed to protecting it. This section applies to the tagsforhope.com Site and governs the service’s data collection and usage. By using the Site you consent to the data practices described below.
1. Collection and Use of your Personal Information
1.1 Information You Give to Us.
Information that is necessary for placing an order with TagsForHope.
We will collect information that is identifiable (“Personal Information”) such as your name, address, e-mail address, and phone number for the purpose of billing and delivering the Products to you. We also collect the last four digits of your credit card, the type of credit card, the currency you used, and the security code for confirmation purposes only.
Information that you choose to give us.
We will collect information about your pet such as its name, address (which is likely to be your address), gender, height, weight, breed, eye color, hair color, and date of birth only when you provide it to us along with any additional information you provide us when you customize your TagsForHope Product. We will also collect any images you choose to upload while customizing Your TagsForHope Product. We collect this information so that we can (i) create your customized TagsForHope Products and (ii) so that we can send you a replacement product should you need one under your lifetime warranty.
We also collect and store identifiable information from our email, chat, and customer support interactions in order to provide you with the superior customer support we are renowned for. When you interact with us through live chat or email, we store that interaction in two ways. The first is on our servers which are provided by LiquidWeb and are stored for a period of 5 days. The second way is stored on our customer support software provider’s server FreshDesk, and is subject to their Privacy Policy and Terms of use.
1.2 Information We Automatically Collect from Your Use of the TagsForHope Website
We collect anonymous information about your computer which can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, and access times. This information is used to provide us with general statistics regarding the use of the TagsForHope Site and to provide premium quality of service.
1.3 Information we do not collect (nor have interest in collecting)
We do not collect and have no means of using sensitive personal information regarding race, religion, or political affiliations. If you choose to disclose this information yourself at any point while you customize your TagsForHope Product, then and only then will this information be collected for the purpose of creating your TagsForHope Product as requested.
We do not store any credit card information other than the information mentioned above. Your payment is processed through PayPal Inc. or Stripe, Inc. and will be used, processed, and stored according to their Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
We do not sell, rent or lease our customer lists or private data to any third parties.
1.4 Services We may be Using that collect information about you from our website
As part of our effort to provide You with the best possible experience as you use the TagsForHope Website, We may subscribe to and use third-party services that help us provide a premium experience. We are very careful about what services we choose to subscribe to and we try our best to choose services that collect, process, and store your information in a lawful manner.
SERVER. As all websites must do, we use a hosting company called Liquidweb, LLC to store the above information which we collect on a server that has the most modern and up-to-date security protocols available.
INSTAGRAM.We use Instagram on the front of our website which may feature an image of your pet with a TagsForHope Product that you have sent us for that purpose.
EMAIL. We use a service that collects your email only when you check the box to agree to provide us with your email for promotional purposes so we may have a way of telling you more about new products or our company in general.
PAYMENT PROCESSING. We use PayPal, Braintree Payments, and Stripe as payment processors. All three are very reputable services and all of the data they collect abides by their Privacy Policy.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT. We use a customer support emailing system called Livechat Inc. that helps us provide our customers with the exceptional customer service we are known to provide. They may store our interactions on their servers and abide by their Privacy Policy.
IMAGE UPLOADING. We use a service that gives our customers the ability to upload their desired image in our Product customization forms which store these images on their servers for us to be able to create the product and access it again if a replacement product is required. The storage of these images falls under their Privacy Policy.
We sometimes also subscribe to and use a service called Hotjar which allows us to view a glimpse of your interaction on our website. This service helps us make our website more user-friendly and generally simpler to use by allowing us to diagnose technical problems, analyze user trends, and learn how to provide an overall better experience. You can easily disable Hotjar from collecting your interaction on the TagsForHope website by visiting their Opt-out page and clicking the ‘Disable Hotjar’ button or enabling Do Not Track (DNT) in your browser.
1.5 Compliance with the Law, Responding to Legal Requests, Preventing Harm and Protection of our Rights.
We will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by the law or to:(i) protect and decent the rights or property of TagsForHope Inc.; or, (ii) under demanding circumstances to protect the personal safety of other customers of TagsForHope Inc. or the public.
1.6 Security, Storage, and Duration of Processing of your Personal Information
We take great care in the process of securing your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. All of the personal information and images that are provided to us by you are stored in a secure server that is protected from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Any personal information (such as a credit card number) transmitted to other websites through the TagsForHope Site is protected through the use of encryption such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
Your personal information is also stored in two separate backup forms. The first is a series of backups made by the hosting company we subscribe to that are located in the state of Michigan, United States. These include hourly, daily, and weekly backups. The longest backup will be stored no longer than two weeks. The second form is an onsite local backup that is stored in a secure safe in London, Ontario, Canada, and will be stored for a period of one week.
We will store your usage data until such time when you withdraw your consent for us to do so. All other data as specified above will be retained for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which we originally collected it. We may also retain information as required by law.
Should you choose to exercise your right to be forgotten (mentioned below) your information will be deleted immediately locally and deleted from our backups after a two-week period.
1.7 Your Rights in Regard to Your Data
You have a right to be informed of your Personal Data processed by TagsForHope, a right to rectification/correction, erasure, and restriction of the processing. You also have the right to receive from TagsForHope a structured, common, and machine-readable format of the Personal Data you provided to us.
We can only identify you via your email address and we can only adhere to your request and provide information if we have Personal Data about you through you having made contact with us directly and/or you using our site and/or service. We cannot provide, rectify or delete any data that we store on behalf of our users or customers.

Where you have provided consent, you may withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing that was carried out prior to withdrawing it. Whenever you withdraw consent, you acknowledge and accept that this may have a negative influence on the level of service TagsForHope is able to provide you. You further agree that TagsForHope shall not be held liable with respect to any loss and/or damage to your Personal Data if you choose to withdraw consent.

2. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies
The TagsForHope website uses “cookies” to help personalize and ease your online experience. Cookies are text files that are placed on your computer by a webpage server for the purpose of telling server-specific information about you returning to that webserver. An example is providing billing information one time, and having the computer remember this information for you so that you don’t have to re-enter this information every time. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. You can change the setting on your browser to disable and delete your cookies.

3. Use of Uploadcare for Image Uploading/Editing
We use uploadcare.com in order to provide you with a higher quality of service. When you upload an image, it will be temporarily stored on the Uploadcare, Inc servers. While these images are stored on the Uploadcare, Inc Servers, they will be subjected according to Uploadcare, Inc’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
4. SMS/MMs Mobile Messaging Marketing Program
In our effort to continue providing a personalized, world-class shopping experience we have chosen to add SMS/text messages as a communication channel with you. We may use your phone number to send you service-related and promotional messages, including order updates, sale alerts, promotions, specials, and other martketing offers, as well as cart reminders.
We use cookies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart including when you have abandoned your cart and this information would be used to determine when to send cart reminder messages via SMS/text messaging.
We respect your privacy. We will only use the information you provide through the Program to transmit your mobile messages and respond to you, if necessary. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing information with platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors who assist us in the delivery of mobile messages. WE DO NOT SELL, RENT, LOAN, TRADE, LEASE, OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER FOR PROFIT ANY PHONE NUMBERS OR CUSTOMER INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH THE PROGRAM TO ANY THIRD PARTY. Nonetheless, We reserve the right at all times to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any law, regulation, or governmental request, to avoid liability, or to protect Our rights or property. When you complete forms online or otherwise provide Us information in connection with the Program, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and true information. You agree not to use a false or misleading name or a name that you are not authorized to use. If, in Our sole discretion, We believe that any such information is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, or you have opted into the Program for an ulterior purpose, We may refuse you access to the Program and pursue any appropriate legal remedies.
5. Residents of California
We are committed to complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The CCPA is a privacy-centric bill aimed at protecting the privacy of California consumers that came into effect on January 1, 2020.
TagsForHope is constantly monitoring the guidance on CCPA compliance from privacy-related regulatory bodies and are constantly updating our products and services accordingly.
5.1 Disclosure of Personal Information
We must disclose to all residents of California whether the following categories of personal information are disclosed for a “business purpose” or “valuable consideration”. Both terms are defined under California law. While a category below may be marked, note that this does not necessarily mean that we have personal information about you in that category. We have disclosed the following categories of personal information in the manner described in the last twelve months:

5.2 Right to Opt-Out of Disclosure of Personal Information
You have the right to direct us to not sell your personal information at any time. Consumers who opt-in to personal information sales may opt-out of future sales at any time. To exercise your right to opt-out, you may submit a request by visiting our California Residents: CCPA Form. You do not need to create an account with us to exercise your opt-out rights and we will only use personal information provided in an opt-out request to review and comply with the request.
You can exercise your rights and request any of the following:
- The right to know which of your personal information is being collected.
- The right to know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom.
- The right to say “no” to the sale of your personal information — “Do Not Sell My Personal Information.”
- The right to access your personal information.

5.3 Right to Notice of Disclosure for Direct Marketing
California residents who have an established business relationship with TagsForHope are entitled to ask us for a notice describing what categories of personal customer information we share with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. This notice will identify the categories of information shared with and will include a list of the third parties with which it is shared, along with their names and addresses. 5.4 Exercising Your Privacy Rights
When exercising the rights or options described in this California Residents section, the following guidelines apply:
- No Discrimination. You will never be subject to discrimination as a result of exercising the rights described herein. In some cases, when you exercise one of your rights, we will not be able to comply with the request due to legal obligations or otherwise, or we will be unable to provide you certain products or services. These responses are not discrimination and specific reasons for why your request was declined or Services ceased will be provided to you at that time.
- No Fee Usually Required. You will not be charged any fee to access your personal information (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may decline to comply with your request or charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive, or excessive.
- Information We Might Need from You. When exercising your rights or otherwise assisting you, we may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity. This is required as a security measure to ensure we do not disclose personal information to any person who is not entitled to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request in order to speed up our response.
- Authorized Agent. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. In order to designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, you must provide a valid power of attorney, the requester’s identification information, and the authorized agent’s identification information.
- Time to Respond. We try our utmost best to respond to all legitimate requests within 30 days of the request. Occasionally it may take us longer to respond if for instance, your request is particularly complex or you have made multiple requests. If this is the case, we will notify you of the delay and will do our best to continue to update you regarding the progress of our response.
