"He became a favorite with the vet staff"
Magoo is the sweetest boy who is, unfortunately, very sick. When he first came into the k9.5 Rescue’s care, Magoo’s lungs were badly congested. He took a course of very potent antibiotics but only got worse.
A CT scan and further testing diagnosed him with chronic inflammatory airway disease (chronic bronchitis) and focal pneumonia. If that wasn’t enough, this loving boy also had issues with his eyes – cataracts and possibly even glaucoma.
Under the watchful care of the team at k9.5 Rescue, Magoo went through a wide range of tests and begun his treatment. He was coughing quite a lot, and so he was placed on antibiotics and prednisone and has done absolutely amazing!
He stopped coughing soon into his treatment and became his happy self. Sadly, his right eye had to be removed and he is taking daily drops to keep his left eye intact and prevent glaucoma and he takes his medication like a champ!
While the airway disease is chronic, it’s manageable, and Magoo has responded exceptionally well to his treatment. It really is the best outcome that could be hoped for!
He became a favorite with the vet staff and they just can’t keep their hands off him because of how playful and loving he is!

Magoo has made wonderful progress overall and is the happiest boy! Despite everything he has endured, Magoo lives life like he’s got it made! His infectious spirit and loving nature have won the hearts of everyone he meets.
His caretakers say he is a fantastic boy! He truly is the perfect dog – he is so loving and kind, and really innocent and playful in his nature. He has taken both his condition and his treatments in stride, despite coughing a lot and not feeling so great.
Magoo loves to go outside at night and bark at the critters out in the woods. He loves to go on walks and car rides, and gets so excited his tail just doesn’t stop wagging! At home, Magoo loves a good bone and is a biggest advocate for dinner!
The vet staff has already fallen in love with him because of how affectionate he is.
