Making real change, together!
Every year, over 2 million adoptable cats and dogs lose their lives to unnecessary euthanasia. Together with our non-profit partners, we are working to bring this number down. One pet at a time. We empower shelters and rescues by giving them the necessary resources and support to save animals lives.
TagsforHope offers grants up to $1000 per pet to shelters and rescues to save a pet and prepare them for adoption. The grant covers lifesaving medical treatment, emergency transportation, and essential supplies.
To apply for a grant, the organization fills out a grant request form. We review all requests within 24 hours and make decisions based on their urgency.
After the grant is dispersed we follow up to check on the health of the pet and to make sure that everything is going well. We continue following the pet on their journey to finding their forever home!

FAQ's
What information do I need to fill in in the grant request form?
Any member of a registered TagsforHope Non-Profit Partner can fill in the forms with the following:
- – Information about the animal (such as name, gender, age, breed—if known)
- – A video or audio clip that describes the animal’s conditions and demeanor
- – Cute videos & photos of the animal (we’ll share them on the Wall Of Hope)
- – Essential funding information like amount requested, urgency, and the donation link.
Why do I need to upload a video/audio clip and pictures/videos of the animal?
There is a media requirement to be eligible for a grant. We compile these photos and videos into heartwarming stories we share with our community on our Wall of Hope. This is part of how we grow support for our mission and raise funds for future grants!
What should the video/audio clip contain?
It should contain info that helps us understand each pet’s unique situation and determine urgency. The video or audio clip should be about 2 to 3+ minutes. Talk about the pet’s story, personality, and treatment/rescue plan.
How can I make sure the video/audio clip is suitable?
Here’s a basic checklist of topics you should talk about in the application.
Pet’s Story
- – How did they arrive at your organization? Is there any backstory to how they were found or why they were surrendered?
- – How long have they been at the shelter?
Pet’s Personality + Funny Stories
- – Please tell us about the pet’s demeanor
- – Please tell us about the pet’s playing + eating habits
- – How does the pet interact with other animals and/or staff (including fosters)?
- – How have they changed since brought into the organization?
Treatment/Rescue Plan and Pet’s Condition
- – What treatment/rescuing do they require?
- – How will the funds be used?
- – What will the animal’s life be like after treatment/rescue?
- – Does the pet need this treatment to become adoptable or to prevent euthanasia?
How many videos and photos of the pet should I send?
Please upload as many videos and photos of the pet as possible. We ask for 3-4+ videos and 7-8+ pictures per grant. If you cannot send us all the videos and photos during the application process, you can do it after the treatment.
What kind of videos should I send?
Feel free to send any videos that show the pet:
- – Playing
- – Eating
- – Cuddling
- – Sleeping
- – Walking
- – Wagging tail
- – Interacting with other animals
- – Interacting with staff or fosters
- – X-rays and photos of the area to be treated
What funding information do you need?
Please tell us the amount requested, the degree of urgency, and your organization’s Paypal or donation link.
How does the post grant follow-up work?
We’re always excited to hear about how the treatment or rescue goes. We’ll send you a follow-up email a couple of weeks after making the payment with a link to a short follow-up form. We ask you to submit another video/audio clip answering our follow-up questions about the saved pet, such as:
- – What was the treatment/rescue outcome?
- – How has the pet’s life changed?
- – What’s the pet’s demeanor like after treatment/rescue?
- – Are they adopted or now eligible for adoption?
- – Any new funny stories?
PS: Please share any post-treatment videos or photos with the foster and/or the adoptive family. We’ll share them with our team and followers so they can see the impact we’re creating when we join forces
