"His condition was so severe that he couldn't walk at all..."

Meet Beaux, who was initially picked up as a stray in Memphis, TN. His condition was so severe that he couldn’t walk at all and his estimated age was 12 years old. Sadly, because of that, Beaux was scheduled for euthanasia.

But thanks to the Critical Memphis Animals Facebook page, Beaux caught the attention of some caring individuals who refused to let him go without a fight.

Thankfully, Beaux’s rescuers connected to the Southern Magnolia Boxer Rescue who helped get him off the euthanasia list and taken to a foster home in Mississippi.

As a senior dog living on the streets, Beaux’s condition was truly appalling. He was full of bladder stones and was beginning to show outward symptoms. He needed to gain weight and muscle mass to begin walking on his own again, and was looking at a minimum of 6 months of care before he could be adopted.

"He loves to cuddle with his foster mom!"

Without the dedication from the amazing individuals involved in Beaux’s care he would not be alive today. On top of all the challenges he has already faced, Beaux was also diagnosed with heartworm. Throughout his treatment, he remained gentle and very receptive to care – and plenty of cuddles from his foster mom!

Beaux received laser therapy, medications, and exercise to help rehabilitate his legs. He can now walk on his own, which is a remarkable improvement from when he was first rescued!

Beaux still needed heartworm medication and surgery to remove his bladder stones, so Across America Boxer Rescue reached out to TagsforHope. With the help of generous TagsforHope supporters like you, we were able to help fund Beaux’s treatment, giving him a second chance at life and a comfortable retirement!
