"He loves getting all the attention"

In January 2023, Rescue City received a distressing call about a puppy named Bronco who was found by the roadside. Upon arrival, it was discovered that Bronco had very low white blood cells and was in a state of hypoglycemic shock. He was in desperate need of emergency care and someone to commit to his healing or he would be euthanized.

Bronco had a challenging start to his journey, spending the first couple of weeks in the hospital due to his lethargy and refusal to eat. Though the initial suspicion was parvo virus, there was no confirmed diagnosis. Thankfully, Bronco was released to a loving foster home where he could continue to heal, taking several medications to aid his recovery until his follow-up appointment in two weeks.

Unfortunately, soon after leaving the hospital, Bronco began vomiting continuously again, and it was discovered that he had an obstruction in his intestines that required emergency surgery. Further tests revealed that Bronco had also suffered from ulcers and rib fractures, which were likely due to being hit by a car and abandoned.

"He is an incredibly sweet puppy"

Despite the challenges he faced, Bronco remained resilient and bounced back quickly after surgery, finding comfort and joy in his foster home.

However, this poor puppy couldn’t catch a break. He was readmitted to the hospital, exhibiting lethargy, refusing to eat and vomiting dark bile. Further tests showed he had inflammation in his bowels but no conclusive results were reached. Despite these setbacks, Rescue City remained committed to Bronco’s care and continued to explore all possible avenues to help him recover.

Everyone who meets Bronco says he is an incredible sweet puppy, who loves affection. He is also clumsy and often spills his food bowl.

Thanks to Rescue City, Bronco was given a second chance at life and was spared from the unthinkable fate of euthanasia.

The kind-hearted help of TagsforHope supporters like you, we were able to help fund Bronco’s on-going recovery.

Though Bronco still needs thorough vet visits and follow ups, he’s now healthy enough to be up to date on vaccines and to start looking for his forever home!
