"An amazing puppy who loves everyone he meets!"
Meet Chunk! He is an adorable 10 month old American bulldog mix who unfortunately did not have the best start in life.
He was brought to a local county shelter in the middle of the night on New Years Eve, after being struck by a car. He had a broken leg and was extremely mangy and missing fur all over his little body. He was also joined by his mom, who was in the same terrible condition as Chunk.
Chunk was taken in and saved from the euthanasia list by Underdog Animal Rescue, and that is when his healing journey truly began!
In addition to all of his trouble, Chunk also suffered from double entropion, which simply means that his bottom eyelids curl inwards and create severe irritation to his eyes. The only way to repair this is with surgery.
Chunk’s skin needed healing and the splint on his leg needed to be changed weekly, but through it all, Chunk continues to be the sweetest boy who simply loves everyone he meets!

After beginning his long road to recovery, Chunk continues to receive amazing attention and care from everyone at Underdog Animal Rescue. He is currently on several supplements as well as a special flea medication to treat his mange and get him strong and healthy.
He also receives good, clean food, gets medicated baths and weekly trips to the vet to make sure he is in the best shape possible.
Chunk requires a month of crate rest as well, which is no small feat for a puppy who just wants to run and play with his friends!
With the help of TagsforHope’s grant and thanks to our generous supporters like you, Chunk is getting better fast! In a couple of months, all of this will be behind him and he can begin his search for a family to call his very own!
