Dolly was thrown over a fence at Oakland Animal Services after hours, following a lifetime of being used to breed puppies. It is likely she was abandoned due to her inability to get pregnant.
Dolly is estimated to be 10 years old and her body shows signs of abuse and neglect. Her ears are overcropped, she is underweight and half of her fur is missing. This gentle girl also suffers from yeast infections, her eyes are covered in mucus and her breasts have become solid masses after years of nursing pups, putting her at a higher risk of cancer.
It is clear that Dolly has had a very challenging life so far. But through it all, she remained gentle and sweet and she just wants to be loved and a cozy home to relax in.
Although she is in the final chapter of her life, the rescue is committed to provide her with the most comfort, love and nurturing that she deserves!

Dolly continues to recover in foster care and there is hope that she will be connected to her forever home as soon as she is ready. There is a very good chance that she will live for several more years.
But the unfortunate reality is that it is still uncertain whether Dolly will be able to find a forever home, given her age, breed, health complications and appearance.
Currently, this sweet girl is suffering from a heart mass as well as other illnesses resulting from the neglect from her last home. She is on several medications and her prescriptions are costly and would require more funding should she stay in foster care.
But the goal for Dolly is simple: make her feel as comfortable and loved during whatever time she has left.
