"Little Ginny was winning over hearts left, right and center!"

Ginny was a victim of devastating abuse and neglect. This sweet girl had a chain collar embedded into her flesh, as it has never been removed as she grew. She was in severe pain and had an infection.

Fortunately, a kind soul opened up her home to Ginger and the very next day she was at the vet. The vet staff worked tirelessly to attempt to fix the horrifying condition she was in. They had to use bolt cutters and surgically remove the large O-ring from her neck.

Ginny’s neck had to be debrided and her wound left open, with honey bandages placed on it. Over the next week, Ginny has daily visits to the clinic for bandage changes, accompanied by hydro and laser therapy just to help her wound.

During that time, her foster family started to see Ginny’s sweet and loving personality really begin to blossom. Little Ginny was winning over hearts left, right and center!

"She is such a sweet, sweet dog!"

After nine days of clinic visits, the vet team thought Ginny has healed well enough for her wound to be stitched up. As it fully encircled her neck – no spot was left unaffected. It was stitched up and a bandage was placed on top to protect it.

Two weeks later, Ginny was ready to have her sutures removed! She also received her vaccines, got spayed and had a microchip put in. She was ready to start looking for a forever home!

While she waits for the perfect adoptive family to come along, Ginny is learning to enjoy life and just be a dog in her comfortable foster home. She loves to explore the yard and is seeking attention from her foster mom. She also shows interest in playing with her foster siblings, even though they are sometimes too rowdy for her.

When little Ginny just arrived at New Hope Dog Rescue, it was thought that she wouldn’t have survived much longer in the state she was in. But thanks to the volunteers the amazing support of TagsforHope customers like you, sweet Ginny has a healthy future ahead of her!
