"His tumour continued to grow..."
Rocky is an 8-year old Staffordshire Terrier who was rescued from a shelter in California. In fact, he was originally surrendered to that shelter together with his girlfriend Violet.
Unfortunately, the two pups were then separated and spent about two months apart, scared and confused.
What’s even more tragic is that both Rocky and Violet ended up on the euthanasia list simply due to an overall overpopulation crisis in California shelters.
Once the Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation heard their story, they immediately rescued Rocky and Violet and reunited the two pups who couldn’t be happier!
Unfortunately, it was soon discovered that Rocky has a tumour in his left eye, which continued to grow significantly in the weeks that followed. The vet determined that it should be removed as soon as possible.
Sadly, Rocky’s surgery came unexpectedly and with so many cases needing attention, the Foundation simply could not afford his surgery right away. Unfortunately, there are so many cases needing attention that some dogs are leaving the shelters without receiving the medical intervention they desperately need to lead healthy lives on the outside.

There is no reason why Rocky and Violet should be in a shelter, instead of with a loving family. Apart from his eye trouble, Rocky is a healthy boy and is an absolute sweetheart and very easy to get along with.
Now that they are reunited, him and Violet are simply obsessed with each other. They play all day and snuggle on the couch and they even had some wedding photos taken.
After Rocky finally undergoes his eye surgery and his vet gives the OK, Rocky and Violet both will be available for adoption through the Petfinder site and social media.
Rocky is loving and sweet and he has every chance to get a home and enjoy his life to the fullest. Thanks to the generous support of TagsforHope lovers like you, he now has a chance to do just that!
Update: Rocky received his surgery and has recovered well. He is currently enjoying lots of snuggles and play time with his beloved Violet, while they wait for their forever home!
